SENCO Assist is an online portal for SENCOs and school staff.
The portal provides information, guidance and resources on key areas of the SEN system including the EHCP process, SEN Tribunals, Disability Discrimination and more
1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the SENCO Assist online subscription portal (“the Portal”). By subscribing to and using the Portal, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, you must not use the Portal.
2. Nature of Information
SENCO Assist is an information portal. Those involved in providing the information, guidance and resources may include qualified and experienced lawyers. However, none of the information, guidance or resources provided constitute legal advice, legal guidance, or legal representation, and should not be taken as such. The information, guidance and resources are general in nature and do not relate to specific or individual cases. Should you require legal advice regarding a particular case or situation, you must contact a practising lawyer. SENCO Assist does not offer legal advice or representation.
3. Eligibility
SENCO Assist is designed exclusively for SENCOs and school staff. It is not intended for external professionals or individuals. By subscribing, you confirm that you are a school, a SENCO, or a member of school staff. A school/educational setting email address is required in order to subscribe.
4. Proprietary Information and Use
All information, guidance and resources contained within SENCO Assist are proprietary and belong to SENCO Assist. By becoming a member, you agree not to share this information with any other organisation or individual outside your school setting. You also agree not to use, copy, or share any information, guidance or resources from SENCO Assist for any commercial purposes. Any breach of this obligation will require you to compensate SENCO Assist, with the level of compensation to be determined.
5. Third-Party Content
The Portal may include content, links, or resources provided by third parties. SENCO Assist does not endorse, control, or take responsibility for the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of any third-party content. Use of such content is at your own risk.
6. GDPR and Data Protection
While every effort is made to handle data responsibly, SENCO Assist accepts no liability for any accidental or unintentional breach of GDPR or other data protection legislation. Users are responsible for ensuring their own compliance with GDPR and for safeguarding any personal data they access, upload, or share through the Portal.
7. Hotline Service
The SENCO Assist Hotline is provided as an introductory offer for six (6) months. SENCO Assist reserves the right to withdraw this service at any time. After the introductory period, SENCO Assist may charge additional fees for Hotline access. A fair usage policy applies, which equates to thirty (30) minutes per month or five (5) hours per year. This policy will be kept under review and may be subject to change. Any information and guidance provided through the Hotline will be general in nature and will not relate to specific cases.
8. Subscriptions and Access
Access to the Portal is provided on a subscription basis.
Subscriptions are annual even if payment is being made on a monthly basis.
- Subscription fees are non-refundable unless otherwise specified.
- SENCO Assist reserves the right to suspend or terminate access in the event of misuse, non-payment, or breach of these Terms.
9. Cancellations and Renewals
Subscriptions will automatically renew at the end of each subscription period unless cancelled in advance.
You may cancel your subscription at any time by providing written notice via email to SENCO Assist. Cancellations must be received at least thirty (30) days before the next renewal date to avoid being charged for the following period.
No refunds will be issued for partial subscription periods and you will be responsible to cover payments for any remaining part of the subscription period.
SENCO Assist reserves the right not to renew any subscription at its discretion.
10. Termination by SENCO Assist
SENCO Assist reserves the right to immediately suspend or terminate your access to the Portal without refund if you:
Breach any of these Terms and Conditions, including misuse of proprietary content or sharing information outside your school.
Use the Portal for unauthorised or commercial purposes.
Provide false information when registering or subscribing.
Fail to make payment for your subscription.
Termination does not affect SENCO Assist’s right to seek compensation or other remedies in relation to any breach.
11. Limitation of Liability
SENCO Assist will not be held liable for any loss, damage, or claim arising from reliance on information provided via the Portal, including but not limited to Tribunal outcomes, disability discrimination claims, or compliance with statutory requirements.
12. Intellectual Property
All content made available through SENCO Assist, unless otherwise stated, is owned by or licensed to us. You may not reproduce, distribute, or share content beyond your school’s internal use without prior written consent.
13. Changes to Terms
SENCO Assist reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Updated versions will be published on the Portal, and continued use constitutes acceptance of those changes.
14. Force Majeure
SENCO Assist shall not be held responsible or liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations under these Terms where such failure or delay results from circumstances beyond its reasonable control. This includes, but is not limited to, natural disasters, fire, flood, strikes, industrial disputes, power failures, internet or telecommunications outages, technical failures, epidemics, pandemics, or government restrictions.
15. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England & Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England & Wales.
